The Foundation Has Never Changed.

More than a decade ago, I was exploring a career change into wealth management.

Before making the leap, I spent a lot of time talking with advisors and others in the industry, trying to understand what the profession was really all about, what actually made someone successful, and whether it was the right fit for me.

Of course, technical competence mattered.

You need to understand investing, the markets, the economy, tax planning, estate planning, insurance, and all the other moving pieces.

I knew, though, that developing that expertise would only come with time, experience, learning from people who were ahead of me, and putting in the reps.

But one realization changed everything for me.

At its core, this business comes down to trust.

Do people trust you enough to truly open up?

Do they trust you enough to manage their money?

Do they trust you enough to follow your advice when the right decision isn't always the easiest one?

When I realized that was the crux of this business, everything clicked. I knew I'd found my calling.

I was hooked. I went all in and haven't looked back.

The relationship side of this business came naturally to me. Building trust, asking thoughtful questions, listening carefully, and helping people navigate important decisions with clarity and objectivity.

Trust was the foundation of this profession a century ago.

It was the foundation when I entered the business more than a decade ago.

And it's still the foundation today.

And I don't think that will ever change.
